General Structure
Origin comes with two types of sound structures:
- Program
- Multi
A Program basically is
- One synthesis patch
A patch is a set of connections between different modules such as oscillators, filters, envelopes, and so on. By sending the electrical signal of an oscillator into a filter, by setting an envelope on the overall volume, by modulating the frequency of the filter, … you will define a unique synthesis structure that will allow for a particular sound. - Settings for three FX’s associated to this patch.
You can choose up to three effects -such as chorus, reverb or delay, for example- and apply them to the sound coming from your synthesis patch - Volume/Pan/ FX amounts / playing mode (Legato,…)
The volume for each VCA (the audio signals coming from your patch, you can have up to 4), the amount for each FX applied to the sound, the play mode (such as legato, portamento,…) - Arpeggiator and/or sequencer settings
The patch can be associated to a sequence pattern or to the Origin arpeggiator. The program saves the reference to the sequence pattern and the arpeggiator settings. - Joystick and encoders assignments
Origin offers many controllers that you can configure the way you want. The joystick can be assigned to different parameters, the color knobs by the screen can be affected to many different parameters, ... Programs save these assignments. - General information about the sound structure.
Part of your program preset, such information as “who made the sound, in what style,… is saved.
A Multi basically is
- A choice of up to 4 programs
- The MIDI channel where each program can be played, the Hardware outputs and the general volume for each channel
- Some General information about the Multi structure
