The MIDI Control Center refuses to see the hardware

The Spark MIDI Control Center can connect to the controller only when the controller is in MIDI Controller mode.

To switch between Spark mode and MIDI Controller mode, you have to press at the same time [Filter]+[Slicer]+[Roller] buttons.
