Title: Sequence MiniBrute through USB, how to set it up?
Post by: col on January 05, 2013, 02:40:57 pm
Somebody help a noob out please? How do I set it up so I can use my daw as a midi sequencer through the USB connection?

How I have it set up now:

- Transmit and receive are set to channel 1 on the MB through the Connection software
- The Connection software shows the MB as "connected".

- I have enabled the MIDI device output in Reaper to "MIDIOUT2 (Minibrute) (channel 1)"

- It won't let me enable the Minibrute option from MIDI devices, only the "MIDIOUT2 (Minibrute)" option. If I try to enable the "Minibrute" option, it shows an error message saying the "MIDI output could not be opened".

- I get sound from the MB to Reaper normally, so it's not an audio problem.

Do I need to set something differently from the MB compared to normal use to make this work. This should be possible right? At least it's listed on Arturia.com:

USB In/Out: Sequence MiniBrute directly from your computer’s DAW without needing a MIDI interface.

Already got it working. It wouldn't let me enable midi output because I had the Connection software running.  ;D

yep, some midi drivers (windows, maybe mac, I'm not sure) only allow one program at a time to connect to a midi device.

Mac driver is usually multi client, windows one is not.
