Title: How Do I Record my Music
Post by: Danomatic on February 17, 2013, 04:12:28 pm
How Do I record my music? Do I need an independant system for that? If so which one should I use, and how do I move the music to another program? I should also like to combine lines of music. And mix in other instruments such as a drum machine.

Also

How do I play more than one key at a time? Can I hook an independant keyboard up to my computer, to use as a remote control?

Hello Danomatic,

What software or hardware are you using?

You would need a DAW to record and mix your music, some common ones are Logic, Protools, Ableton, FL studio, and Cubase.   If you are using a Mac then you should have garageband already installed.

How to record though is different depending on if you're using hardware or software.   You can hook a keyboard up to the computer via USB to control the software with.  You can select it by going to preferences / audio & midi settings / active midi inputs

Regards,
