Post by: Dav1d on May 30, 2013, 05:56:14 pm
Hi all Analog Lab Users,

You can use this new version that corrects a lot of issues:
MAC: http://www.arturia.com/downloads/AnalogLab/version/Analog_Lab_1.0.5.dmg
PC:    http://www.arturia.com/downloads/AnalogLab/version/Analog_Lab_v1.0.5.exe

Unfortunately this update did not fix my problem.  Everything still works great on its own, but when opened up as a VST or audio unit plug-in, my encoder knobs are still not working.  I have synced it and all that.  I hope this is fixed soon because I can't wait to get down on this thing in Ableton!!

Also, the knobs even in the stand alone program aren't nearly responsive enough yet for my taste.  I have to turn it 2 to 3 full revolutions to get a full sweep.  Thanks for your help!  It sounds amazing and I think I am going to use this a TON once we get it dialed in!  Thanks again for such a great value!

Oh Man, I was so excited to see this new update, I jumped in right away, and as Moshua said, it really helps with the standalone, but when I use it as a VST in Ableton 8, Crash City!  Also, I concur with the knobs being almost useless in VST mode.  One other odd thing I found, even in I stand aloe mode, was if I played with the Delay knob, and turned it all the way off, the sound would go away even if I switched patches.  Am I missing something on that one?

Soooo hoping this all gets resolved, because I have found so much inspiration here!

Hello,
The Delay knob is assigned to a Sound and to its synth (MiniV, SEM V, etc...). In other words, the Delay knob controls the Delay which is within the instrument.
In Sound mode as well as in Multi mode, the delay knob will have a different value for each preset.

Dealing with the crashes, I will contact you to get the crash logs.

Hope it helps,
Thomas

Hi David,

After downloading this new version these are my findings :

    Improvements:

1.-Accurate response on the preset knob.

    2.-Improved latency.

3.-Able to save on the fly.

List of setbacks:

    1.-Overloading of CPU meter.

2.-Sudden audio clipping and shut down.

3.-Same slow reaction time on rest of knobs.

Unfortunately I am going to have to revert back to the old version do to the overload on the CPU

Thanks,

edpdx

I hope y'all checked out the YouTube video showing how to switch Modes between Relative and Absolute.  What wasn't made clear is that even when using Analog Lab as a VST or AU plug-in, you still need to switch it to preset 2.  Then, when you change to play another plug-in instrument, you'll have to switch to Preset 1.

None of this fixes the crashing but it's finally a controller that is becoming useful.  Arturia braintrust, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Here's the link to the videos:

@ David@Arturia
i face major problems too while want using my new MiniLab and Analog Lab inside of Ableton Live.

as standalone all works perfect. but not as AU-plugin.

1st
the Rotary Encoders act wired,
and i must turn them very long to make anything moving in the GUI.
i mean they work very slow, so that i must turn around and around endless rounds to make the value change a little.

as recomended, i use Relative Mode (Factory Preset #2)

but i tryed also Absolute Mode (Factory Preset #1)
which is more worst, cos then the Encoders work super fast, and also jump back and forward.

2nd
it simply chrashes my Ableton Live 8.2.5 very hard while using for no reason.
for example when open "MIDI Monitor" … crash + close instantly.

---

as i read here, this is an reported bug! and that those problems a lot of users faced already.
since may 2013 mebers talk about that issue, but version 1.0.3 didnt fix this bug yet.

as an registered user i'm impressivly inspired and love to work with your classic V Collection as well with Spark.

but damn, this MiniLab is the most handy controller on the market yet
and in combination with Analog Lab a very efficient combi
to archieve scetches before finalize them more detailed inside your single soft synths from Arturia V Collation.

SO HOW CAN WE FIX THIS ISSUE TO MAKE MINILAB RUN WELL IN ABLETON?

yeah, (so sorry to harp!) I have Ableton Live 9 and both relative and absolute modes just aren't really working.  Unfortunately, I have pretty much stopped using this controller and the software too.  There are also bugs with running Analog Lab in Ableton 9 without even using the controller.  I'm really kinda bummed because I really think you guys are brilliant.  I adore these sounds!  But I just can't reliably use this controller or software.

same issues as Moshua's post, using Cubase 6.
I think both software and hardware have great potential with some minor refinements/bug fixes, so I hope we see some shortly.

also, where should we report any bugs/requests?

Really disappointed with this, afraid it's going to have to be returned. Can't believe this is sold as a controller yet the plug-ins don't actually work.

Hopefully the shop where I bought it from won't give me hassles on it's return.

Hey Everybody,

Im new to this.

I'm running Ableton 9 on a Mac with OSX. I purchased a Arturia MiniLab and after days of confusion, I got it to appear in my Control Surfaces in Preferences.

BUT , now I'm ready to record.

How do i record the ANALOG LAB in Ableton?

The keyboard signal is being picked up.
when I record, notes show in the display screen in Ableton.
But no sound in playback after i record.

I simply want to record sounds from ANALOG LAB into my project in ABLETON 9

Please help anybody

Just bought a MiniLab today, I can't download the installer for the Analog Lab. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I just had the same thing happen. I managed to find a different download link on this page: http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/products/Analog_Lab/resources.html

This worked for me, just got it installed and registered.

Enjoy!

So after messing around with the Minilab for a few hours I must say it is pretty cool. I also must say that it doesn't really function as advertised. I was really excited to have 16 knobs to map in Ableton but they don't really work all that well.

Also, I managed to get it working perfectly for a moment and then for some reason the setup completely stopped working. I could use the #9 knob to change the volume on Track 1 (like it is supposed to) and then randomly it just gave out.

I kinda feel a bit duped here. Should have known the 95 dollar pricetag was too good to be true.

Anyone have any luck? I may have to return it in the end :/

Hi Arturia and Music lovers!
Thanks for the new Analog Lab. (And the new synths) The problem is that I couldn't take my licence from the old version and use it on the update. Is there some way to solve this? Right now, I can only play twenty minutes in the demo mode. Or must I get a new licence? Musically yours Liselotte in Sweden

Hi Lottie your licence should be in My Arturia

Arturia is using ASC to manage licences now and also updates

This thread is for the old version of analog lab

Download the new ASC and it should sync your licence
