Title: CPU load
Post by: MtotheC on September 05, 2013, 03:42:10 pm
Hi,
I'm using a 2009 MacBook Pro 2.53/ 4gb and just using a Spark pattern (with no other instruments) on Ableton is around 48% CPU load.  Is this normal?

Hi,
a few questions to find out what can be the problem:
what is the sample rate?
what is the audio buffer size?
what is the Spark project?
Is it also occurring in standalone?
From where do you take this CPU load (Spark CPU meter, Ableton CPU meter, Activity Monitor)?

Can you compare sample rate and audio buffer size in Spark standalone and in ableton Live?
What is the kit you are using?
Do you have the same value in Spark plugin CPU meter and in Ableton CPU meter?

Hi,
sorry it took so long for me to get back to you.  The CPU load is no where near as high when Im playing in standalone mode

Can you compare the settings between Spark standalone and ableton (sample rate, audio driver, buffer size...)?
