Hey guys,
I'm new to the board, just picked my first arturia product and first midi gear. I just had a question or two regarding integration of the mini lab into Ableton. So far, I have visited the tutorial on the process found here:
http://www.arturia.com/downloads/minilab/technotes/MiniLab-Ableton.pdf
I am on Windows 7 Home Premium, and where I am getting stuck so far is where to install the script. I've attached a screenshot of my view but basically, once I get to C:\users\(username)\ I am not seeing the other file locations that are listed (AppData and so on). Am I doing this right ? Should I be looking in another location ? I apologize in advance for the n00bz of this question, but I am genuinely stuck.
Please help, Thanks!

try the administrator folder

That folder is empty?

I'm thinking of returning this back to GC tomorrow. 1.) I'm still having a hard integrating with ableton 2.) the Analog Lab crashes every time I attempt to scroll through the presets
I submitted an IT ticket earlier today. I'm really hoping I can get some feed back asap. I love the sounds butttttttt, so far the mini lab is not working for me the way it should..at all

You wont hear anything from Tech support for weeks, return it..
-
mmm, returning the unit is not the only way, you can also make appearing the hidden files of your windows:
==> http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/show-hidden-files-windows-7.htm
It works even if you are on Windows 8.
-
Notice how the analogue crashes comment was ignored...
-
Ok, so, here is an article that explains the needed information to report a crash:
==> http://www.arturia.com/evolution/kb/?View=entry&EntryID=184
We are aware of those crashes as many other companies, and we are reporting them in order to provide better versions for futur.

What about the issue with the encoders not working as they should in Ableton, which many users are suffering and have reported..

Goon: You need to put the file here:
[PC]
On Windows Seven / Height
1/ Open "Windows Explorer"
2/ go to:
==> C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live <version> \Preferences\User Remote Scripts\miniLab\
3/ Paste the file "UserConfiguration.txt" in this Folder
[MAC]
Depending of your OS, on 10.7, 10.8:
1/ Open Finder
2/ Click on the Go option in the tool bar
3/ Press "Alt" button of your Keyboard, this add a "Library" entry to menu
4/ Select "Library" entry in menu
5/ Open Preferences / Ableton / Live <your version> / User Remote Scripts / MiniLab /
6/ Put the Txt File inside of it
OSX 10.6
1/ Open Finder
2/ Select the drive
3/ select User / <your user>
4/ select "Library" / Preferences / Ableton / Live <your version> / user remote script / MiniLab /
5/ Put the Txt File inside of it
Otherwise PM me a ticket number

I know where to put the script, please take time to read the posts as I didnt ask that question.
-
Yes I'm having problems here too. The folder it says to drop the script didn't exist on my Mac OSX.
I tried creating the folders and dropping the script inside. When I go to Midi Preferences in Ableton 8
There is no option under Control Surface for Arturia MiniLab. It appears under Input and Output but not Control Surface.
I'm getting a MIDI signal from MiniLab into Ableton 8. But the actual sound isn't recording.
It doesn't play back??
The more time I spend with this product and reading other posts here is not very reassuring.
I'm second guessing my purchase at this point.
Anybody can understand my issue and can help?
thanks,
Kurt

Don't know if this will help but I wopuld have posted exactly the same as you because I was looking for something called Arturia or minilab but in my case it was called "script for ableton live" - might just be worth checking down the menu...
