Just wondering if the USB MIDI link provided on the Minibrute is a "standard" class compliant one or a specific one.
Any info about the MiniBrute connection MIDI string format would also be welcome.
My intention is to build up a DIY "hardware" equivalent of the Minibrute Connection for live use without any PC.

iirc, it works as a usb midi device on a pc without any need to install a special driver.
it does not work on an ipad, however (which has me worried a little about the new microbrute, which doesn't have a din midi out - would be a bummer if its usb midi didn't work on an ipad, either).

@bartelby
Minibrute will send and receive midi to an ipad, but you'll need to stick a powered USB hub inbetween the two. It's a USB power issue rather than a midi one. As far as I know, the Minibrute is class compliant and the Microbrute should be too- dunno if the USB power issue has been sorted on the new machine though.

The USB power issue is quite common with the iPad even though the minibrute does not seek any power from the USB port. I already had the same issue with the CME bitstream 3x. Inserting a Low power USB Hub in between usually do the trick.

MicroBrute is properly recognize by an Ipad, without the need to use a hub.
I'll fix it for MiniBrute in the next update.

cool! didn't think that would be something you could fix with software.

It's possible when the machine has an external power supply.
