Disable Hyper-Threading

Disable advanced power-saving and dynamic performance options for your CPU

Incuding Enhanced Intel SpeedStep (EIST), AMD Cool 'n' Quiet, Intel Turbo Boost, and AMD Turbo CORE

Disable C-States

ALso found a audio driver i dont need attached to my nvidia hdmi video card which i disabled and uninstalled

I found this useful when setting up my workstation:

As always, YMMV, proceed with caution, at your own risk, and remember that system restore points are your friend.

Thought I would put this free tools in here

http://www.thesycon.de/eng/free_download.shtml (http://www.thesycon.de/eng/free_download.shtml)

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html)

I found them useful and you don't need to install them (cpu -z alt version download) use them for latency , usb and system info
