Title: Suggestions for new features for MiniMg update
Post by: Thomas@Arturia on March 14, 2011, 01:41:08 pm
Hi All !

We plan to update MiniMg V during 2011, so my question is:

What new features would you like for the future version of MiniMgV ?

Thanks ahead,
Thomas

(I keep the question as open as possible on purpose)

Hi
The MM is pretty much complete in  my opinion.
Tweak the AI so that it sounds even more realistic but DON'T increase CPU load please!

Effects & Arp could be modernised a bit?

Cheers

64 bit, oversampling options like dcam

Good news! I agree with the transition to 64bit, as it seems to be the most important at least for me. Working in Logic 64bit is PITA to use 32bit-bridge. Hope the other instruments will follow as well.  ;)

Please add the Play button on the arp as a variable available to the VST host for assignment. I need this to assign the exp pedal to arp on different instances.

Also the ability for neg sync, improving the sync. 24 db cutoff, stereo panning the voices...

+1 on 64bit. The entire V-Collection needs to move to this. I saw a post somewhere else in these forums where hints of a 64bit version of V-Collection is in the works. So please get that going. It's time.

Thanks

I would really like to have an entire generic-remote-automation-capablity for ALL knobs, rotaries and hidden controls that exist within the miniMg v- gui. (for example the wave-form-rotaries, all knobs, the fx...)
The minimonsta of some other manufacturer also has this feature and so I always ponder to give my miniMg v away only because of this lack. But on the other hand your miniMg has this great analogue bass-sound that the minimonsta imho cannot deliver... it would be really great, if you would make it possible to have full automation.
Then I wouldn't think any longer about the minimonsta!

This would also contribute to a better controlability via Cubase's generic remote-dialogue and novation's automap (or the mapping within Studio One as well...). I always am very disappointed when I step through the miniMg v's presets and some parameters cannot be tweaked without parameter-jumps or special midi-adjustment, because no parameter-feedback is sent... An entire generic-remote-implementation would give the possibility of a total paramter-feedback on my bcr2000 and my novation nocturn, as well.
With nearly every commercial vsti-software this is possible at the moment, but only the (great!) Arturia-plugins still have some deficites in view of this.... (I would also like to have this feature for the prophet v, to be honest). Parameter-feedback is one of the real great advantages for controlling vsti (it's 2011...  ;) ).

So might my dream, to control a virtual Arturia miniMg v  entirely with hardware-controllers come true this year? Please give it a chance, Arturia, I really love this great plugin so much :) !

1. 64-Bit support
2. Bugs fixed @ 88.2Khz/higher sample rates
3. Better CPU efficiency all round - really important.
4. No aliasing (oversampling, i guess, but I think the overall engine needs to be cpu optimised before this will work, though!)

Basically, the more it can sound like a real MiniMg, the better!

Thanks

Eddie

another thing that must be fixed are graphics-issues with arturia-plugins in common.

very often the plugin-guis aren't shown when running in my daw. standalone i didn't use them so far.
mostly the plugin-windows don't exist, so that only the top-bar of the vst is shown. sometimes arturia plugin-guis are opened and seem to be transparent within the vst-frame. no gui is shown, but instead the background is shown.
this is one of the most occuring issues that i encounter with them.
would be great, if this would be fixed.
i use cubase studio 5 and an amd/ ati radeon 5850. before this i used a fire gl v5600 and also encountered these problems.

Definitely a controller dump function (preferably automatic on preset changes) so that it can dump all the settings to my BCR2000 midi controller for live work and also feedback so that changes made via the GUI are refected on the controller.

It would be nice to have this in some of the other synths as well.

A scaleable GUI would be nice so that it's more readable on high res monitors (1920x1080).
