Title: How to improve hardware control ?
Post by: Thomas@Arturia on May 19, 2011, 11:02:38 am
Hello !

Still working hard on our V-series synths,
we intend to improve MIDI mapping on all of our plug-ins.

Please answer with some suggestions on the following topic posted in Free Speech Forum,
here:

All the best,
Thomas

I would like to have all controllers accessible in VST/AU automation.
The handling of VST automation in Cubase is much better than in MIDI remote control of miniMgV:
- there is no strange delay in widget moving,
- there is feedback feature,
- there is automation tracks,

Installed a fresh system and all the Arturia synths again.

The "improved" Midid CC assignment in MiniMg V is really strange in two ways:
1. Assignment of buttons is not updated to the new fancy style and are even worse than before since there's no indication that a CC has been assigned. What's the point with doing it differently with buttons?

2. Some parameters can't be assigned anymore, like in the matrix and arpeggio styles. Not an improvment.

Otherwise it's nice but I didn't like to manually remake all assignments. There should be some kind of import option. The other Arturia synths could read the old midi.pref/controlMidi files so I they were fine.

So please, when you implement this on the other synths, implement a way to read the old midi-cc preferences.
