Title: PAN law?
Post by: guardner on June 10, 2011, 03:35:12 pm
What is the PAN law of the SPARK internal mixer???
because if you set PAN to zero the sound gets lower in volume, than if it is a bit left or right in position...

Hi Guardner,

This is strange, i've checked it in Logic and in standalone mode, it works as expected. Can someone else confirm it? I think the Pan law is -3db though.

Cheers!

Play a steady looping sound through a mono channel. Insert a level meter plug on the channel. Pan it from center to hard L/R. You'll see the level change.

I say this to allow people to work through some of this stuff by themselves. It's easy to test, what a pan law is doing in any given daw. Just play something you can meter and pan it and see what happens.
