Title: Panning notes
Post by: Gothboy on November 02, 2011, 12:38:20 am
Can I get some feedback from some users on how to pan notes?  I've tried wiring an LFO to the pan modules inputs(L & R and the others and I get either right or left but what I want is notes panning all over the place both left and right.  Any help would be great!

Panning is a pain in ARP2600 V!

I don't have the VST in front of me, but I think I did it like this:

* Take your LFO and patch it to 1 and 3 Voltage Processor jacks
* Invert the signal coming from jack 3
* Take the separate outs from Volts Processors ( 1&2 and 3&4 ) and have those control the amount of Left and Right audio volume.

You can tweak as needed to get the panning wider or more narrow, etc. It works really well when you get used to it. It would be easier to just patch LFO to the PAN jack, but that only causes a weird click to happen for me.

Hope this helps!

Yes, I wonder why that happens. Is that a bug or is it perfectly explainable?

An update - I found out this is not a bug. The PAN jack is supposed to accept audio and not for modulating Left or Right output.

I never owned an ARP2600, but was told this is how the actual hardware functions.

Ah, so do you also know why it works with the voltage processors? Is it creating something like a AM modulation?
