Title: Little Question
Post by: matt1314 on December 24, 2011, 01:25:46 pm
Hi everyone!

Thank you everyone at Arturia for releasing the 1.4 update! I love especially the new kits and finally I can save my projects again without that bug in the previous version. :)

Now I have a little question: I'm a big fan of Spark because it features so many Vintage Drum Machines emulation kits that I'm really amazed of! But what do the following kits emulate? I still couldn't figure until now, I know all the others: In the new update we get like the Lynn 9000 which is obviously the Linn 9000. And the DRmulator is surely the E-mu Drumulator (which I wanted for a really long time, thank you a lot, Arturia!!!). But what are the DDM-120 (I know it came in one of these first expansion packs) and the YRX 5 emulating?

Thanks in advance. :)

You're probably right about the RX5, but there's no Korg DDM-120. There's only a DDM-110 and DDM-220. I don't know which Arturia's kit is emulating.

Is there anyone to help me? I found the KPR++ kit and it's the emulation of the Korg KPR-77. Also, what's that KR-100 emulating?

Edit: Found! The KR-100 is the Kawai R-100!

Hi Matt,
"The DDM-120 pays tribute to the digital series of Korg drum machines, giving you access to the lo-fi 8 bit sounds of the DDM-110 and DDM-220." (quote from our website :))

Ah, okay. So it emulates both of them so to speak. :) Are these correct from the following list?

DDM-120 = Korg DDM-110/DDM-220
DNX = Oberheim DMX
DR-606 = Roland TR-606
DR-626 = Roland TR-626
DR-707 = Roland TR-707
DR-808 = Roland TR-808
DR-909 = Roland TR-909
DRmulator = E-mu Drumulator
DrumTrax = Sequential Circuits DrumTraks
KPR++ = Korg KPR-77
KR-100 = Kawai R-100
Lynn 9000 = Linn 9000
Lynn Dream = Linn LinnDrum
Sci-mons = Simmons SDS-V
YRX 5 = Yamaha RX5

Did I forget something or are these all of the vintage drum machine emulations?

"The KPR++ faithfully emulates the punchy analog sounds of the KPR-77 which was Korg’s answer to the TR-606. As a bonus, it also integrates a few percussion sounds based on the older and rarest KR-55 and KR-33 models."

I will ask Romain for the other because I don't know all the details of the Library

Hi Matt,

All your list is correct.

KPR++ = Korg KPR-77
> The original KPR-77 has only 8 sounds, so we added 8 other analog sounds from the KR-33 and KR-55

Did I forget something or are these all of the vintage drum machine emulations?
