Title: Some requests for 1.5...
Post by: holografique on July 10, 2012, 02:29:28 am
a few things that came to mind as I was doing some programming last night...

1. it would be great if the sequencer in the UI would actually highlight each step visually the same way it highlights the physical on/off step buttons. I find there is a visual disconnect when I'm trying to focus in on a specific step that I "hear" doing something, and need to find it visually on the screen, you can't tell where in the sequence it unless you look down, but then have to quickly look up to correlate which step that is in the screen. It's just not a fluid workflow.

2. While I've had the Origin for almost 2 years now, I've never really spent a lot of time with the sequencer. Last night was the first time I really dug into it and I'm surprised to find that there is no "random" mode for the direction. Only FWD, BWKD, FWD-BKWD, etc. Would be great to see a random mode for the sequencers.

3. Many times when adjusting parameters, it's nice to be able to know where the parameter was originally set for the preset that was loaded. It would be cool if the UI would change the color of the value displayed to "red" when you dial in the original value of the preset, once you move forward or backwards past the original value, the value color goes back to "black". Similar to the Mg Voyager, where the screen shows you the original value and the realtime value you are modifying for any parameter that you touch or move. This is very helpful and useful during sound programming and you want to experiment at various levels within your programming, and want to easily change one parameter back to where it was, but not the entire patch.

cheers!
