Title: 64 bit update for Analog Player?
Post by: patricks on August 14, 2012, 06:07:16 pm
Arturia peeps - any plans on updating the Player to 64-bit compatibility? The Laboratory is 64 bit now, so any chance we can get the same soon?
Thx  :)

I'd like to know, too.  I'd gladly upgrade to the Factory if it was 64-bit, but the Lab is just way more horsepower than I need (and my little Player 25 doesn't have enough knobs!).

I know software companies don't (well, rarely) offer an ETA on these things, but... any news?  Any plans?

Thanks

I got this from Technical Support "the Dev Team will release a free update for 64bit compatibility, I don't have a precise date though" So, they are going too releas an update...but i doubt it will be soon.

Seriously looking forward to get the 64-bit update (and actually make some use of my 25 Player).

All new computers come with Windows 8! I just bought one, along with Arturia's The Player. It really surprises me that there are quite all lot of companies out there, that did not anticipate or were not proactive enough, to work on the new Windows 8 OS updates on there behalf :(

Hopefully Arturia will have some solution sooner rather than later :) I am a new customer! Please do not drive me away :)

It might be worth mentioning that a 64-bit system (like 64-bit Windows) is able to run 32-bit software.

There is a problem if one needs to use a 32-bit VST plug-in inside a 64-bit sequencer application (e.g. Pro Tools, Sonar, Studio One etc). That doesn't work.

I use Studio One (by Presonus) and just realized that there is also a 32-bit version available of it. Stupid me should have realized that much earlier. With the 32-bit Studio One I have no problems using the 32-bit Analog Player VST plug-in.

Stand-alone Analog Player (32-bit) works fine in 64-bit Windows.

Rocking and rolling.
