Title: Multiple Beatsteps
Post by: ZenMusic on May 09, 2014, 05:39:38 am
Can I run 2 or more Beatsteps in parallel from my PC?  (ableton as a driver, MIDI )

Why not. It is actually the only way to control more than one CV channel. If you want to control filter or amp over CV and not only pitch, you need more than one CV channel. Professional CV sequencers often have 3 channels. So I guess having three BeatSteps in parallel is not so crazy idea.

This is something I've been very curious about.  I'm debating going out to grab a 2nd Beatstep today as I love creating sequences on my analogs, with the one that I have.  2 at a time would be great.

I have 2 Beatsteps connected to my Mac, perfectly in sync with Ableton as master.
No hassle at all.

This should also work on a PC, I guess.

Yeah same here. Use Cubase as master clock only and 2 Beatstep connected via USB hub. It’s pretty cool to do 1/8 and 1/16 or 16 steps and 10 steps for some polyrhythm kinda sequencing

It’s the cheapest/easiest way for me to use my 2 Beatstep together due to lack of midi in. Only via usb. Otherwise I’d need 2 midi to usb host which is not cheap
