Title: Microbrute has no sound after firmware update.
Post by: projectile on July 21, 2014, 05:54:25 am
Hi-

I just bought a new microbrute and went to update the firmware.  Instantly afterwards i have no sound coming out of it whatsoever.

I've done what the TECHNOTE_03.pdf says 3 times now and nothing is working.  I've seen some other people here have this problem... Does anyone know what to do about this?  Do i need to return it now?

Thanks for the help.

After I updated the firmware I had the same problem. When I searched on google this thread was the top search result. It's a shame there is no answer here.

I solved this issue by connecting the Microbrute with my PC and using the MicroBruteConnection application.
The Step On switch was set to Gate. I changed this to Clk and now I get sound from my Microbrute.

I've got the same problem.

But the octave lights aren't on continuously, and the disclaimer of the FW restoration says to use it only in that case.

What should we do?

The "Step on" option only applies to sequencer, the synth is not functional when sequencer is off, it's something else.
Flickering octave LEDs could come from a faulty external PSU, you should contact techsupport to sort it out
