Bug: Velocity Modulation of Multimode Filter Env Amount
« on: August 25, 2003, 09:33:41 am »
Hi Arturia team and everyone!

It seems there's a bug in the multimode filter. If cutoff is modulated by the envelope, where the envelope goes through an aux VCA modulated by velocity (to get envelope amount velocity dependent) there are once in a while loud bleeps when you play the keyboard.

These bleeps do not appear all the time. Normally you need to start the application, load the patch and play the keyboard, preferably with both hands and using chords, then within the first minute you will hear a few bleeps (what your speakers!). If the application was running for a while before, then the bug may not appear.

The above is behaviour in standalone. While doing the same within Logic it just crashes the application.

From the crash dump of Logic (the crash address is within Logic.exe) it seems to me that this is a memory corruption problem. This also explains the fact that the bug doesn't appear stably.

The bug doesn't show with the 24dB ladder filter.

My system specs: P4-2.4c, 512 RAM, 98SE, MMV 1.1, Logic 5.x
The patch to test this bug can be downloaded from http://www.mtu-net.ru/syncmodular/temp/beav.zip

Best regards,
Dr Sync

P.S. Would it be possible to allow small attachments (up to 10K maybe) in the forum posts?
