ProphetV 2 Not working (then crashing) in Logic...
« on: November 28, 2012, 08:49:54 pm »
As of late, my ProphetV 2.5.3 opens, but on playback, it 'pops' like an audio overload on a Channel Strip (no sound). Change Preset - still no sound. Change preset again - Logic Crashes.

Just tried downgrading to 2.5.1 and have the exact same issue...

Anyone else having this happen? Any suggestions for a fix?

I'm on Mac OS 10.8.2 btw. Logic is 9.1.8

Edit - strangely Live 8 works perfectly with both AU and VST! Strange.

Update: Preset switching in Live crashes as well using both 2.5.1 or 2.5.3.

I have a Logic Crashlog if anyone thinks it will help.

Having the same problem here. It's a little erratic, but happens more than I'd like. I also get crashes or hangs when I simply instantiate Prophet V2. I also have a crash log if anyone is interested.

Hello!

Pops often occur when your latency is too low.  So you could try increasing the buffer time.
As for the crashing, there are many reasons why this could occur (including CPU and latency) and a crash log may help me sort it out

Regards,

Rebecca

My I/O Buffer is at 256 Samples. I rarely change this unless recording audio, and it has never affected the ProphetV before... All of the other instruments (V-Collection 3 and multiple 3rd PArty AU's) work perfectly. It's just the Prophet that does this.

I've attached a link to my CrashLog below - hopefully it can provide some insight.

It looks like there's a corrupted file.

Please delete these files:

/Library/Arturia/ProphetV
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/ProphetV.vst
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ProphetV.component
/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/ProphetV.dpm
/Application/Arturia/ProphetV.app

and install the latest update from our site.

Hope this helps your issue!
Rebecca

Deleted all the files you listed, except there was no Prophet V folder in the AppSupport>Arturia folder. There are folders for Analog Laboratory, Oberheim SEM V, Spark, Spark Vintage Drum Machines, and Wurlitzer V... Downloaded and reinstalled the Prophet V 2.5.3 installer, and relaunched Logic. The PV opened fine and played, but when I changed patches it crashed like it always has.

Standalone mode works perfectly, but has no AU Presets to load.

Did a Permissions Repair, and Restarted my MacPro. Launched Logic, opened the PV. Changing factory presets work fine, but changing to an AU Preset causes audio failure. Again, changing to a new preset crashes Logic...

As usual, every other Arturia AU works just fine. I'm stumped.

Okay,

I deleted *everything* Arutria - apps, prefs, App Support files, everything I could find. Ran Permissions Repair and rebooted.

Downloaded the latest versions from the website and reinstalled. The Prophet V STILL shuts down after changing AU presets.

Also, I had to go into Audio Units Manager and manually validate all the Arturia plugs, since they would not pass on their own. This may be as I'm running Logic in 64-bit mode...

This is happening on *both* my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro (both on 10.8.2), so I can only assume that something in the PV plugin does not like something in the System.

As usual, every other Arturia plugin is working just fine.

Any suggestions now?
