Analog Factory - ROMpler or synth?
« on: June 28, 2006, 07:27:14 pm »
We are arguing about this topic with my friend. He says it's a ROMpler (bank of sampled sounds), I say it's a (cutdown) synth. Who is right then? I don't need yet another samplebank, but if it's based on a synth engine combining the best from all the vintage synths while keeping everything easy...  I'm going to buy this one.

No answers? Does ANYBODY know? It looks like Arturia people are ashamed to admit it's just another ROMpler.

It's not a ROMpler; it's an analog preset library which runs on the same engines built for the separate synthesizers: each synth's preset will rely on its specific sound engine: Modular patches will use the engine from MMV, CS80 patches will use CS80 engine and so on; it's not this hard after all  8)

Thanks for the answer - the PR articles did NOT make this clear.
