Minibrute cv in from Microbrute fail...
« on: November 15, 2013, 01:42:11 am »
Hi,

I'm having problems receiving cv information from the Microbrute, I can CV/Gate just fine from the MiniB to the MicroB but the other way around only gate works.

The only way I can get it to (kind of) work is to patch the cv out from the MicroB to" Amp to Vco" on the MiniB, the MiniB changes pitch but has about three octave up difference.

Am I just being stupid or is there some hidden menu some where?

Speaking of Octave, would be grate to have and octave switch of sorts to run the MicroB as a second Oscillator for the MiniB, how hard would it be to implement with a key combo?

Thanks and awesome work (very happy chap here).

You have to plug microbrute "Pitch Out" to minibrute "Pitch(to VCO".
the notes played on the micro will be transposed on the mini by the value of the latest key you pressed(on the mini), left C key at octave 0 setting can indeed give you a 3 octaves transposition

Just to confirm (sorry jumped the gun), there will always be an octave difference when using cv?

right after power up, if you don't use the keyboard, it will be 0 transpose. then the lowest you can achieve with current firmware is +1 octave indeed.
In the next Firmware update, I added a -3 octave switches position, that will enable you to get the missing octave (from 0 to +1). Exactly as it's done on MicroBrute.

Thanks Bruno, for adressing this issue, great news! 8)

Great thread.   because, I'm such a rookie when it comes to CV gate , etc coming from MIDI.   Anyway thank you... It plays on pitch..  Whewwww..  I was worried why the Microbrute only sequences the Minibrute on 1 pitch lol..  I didn't know about the Pitch out from Micro to Pitch to vco..

I feel happy now..
