Knobs are a bit too sensitive
« on: March 15, 2014, 01:50:46 am »
my Knobs are a bit too sensitive sometimes one 'click' will jump two positions. is there a way to adjust this?
specifically when changing GLOBAL parameters and values.

Are you talking about the PARAM and VALUE knob ?

Hi,

I have the same kind of behaviour, concerning both Parameter and Value knobs.

About one instance in five movements of one notch
a) does not change the number/parameter
b) moves 2 steps, I have to go backwards to get the 1st step up/down
c) sometimes 2 notches do nothing, then jump to 3rd value.

My question to Arturia: is this normal expected behavior or can I get more precise function of these knobs if I have my Keylab61 changed for another.
Second question: is this a mechanical problem (correctable?) or can it be changed via future firmware upgrade?

When is it happening for you ? In a DAW ? With AnalogLab ?
This encoder shouldn't react like this.

(At least) when changing Values and Parameters in *Keylab61*.

The other knobs, sliders and buttons function as expected, as far I can tell.

So I can expect better behaviour of Value annd Parameter knobs if I change for another Keylab61 unit?

I don't think my unit is defective i think they all operate this way.
to recreate:

all from keyboard, press edit, press global, turn the Param knob slowly. sometimes one click will not advance through the list of params sometimes it will jump thru two at once.
same with the value  knob below it.

I've got the same issue with the Param / Category and Value / Preset knobs on my KeyLab 49. I'll turn them multiple times with no reaction, then the next click jumps them several rows down in Analog Lab.

Likewise, if I'm using them to move thru parameters and values for the KeyLab itself, the value/preset knob tends to skip one on every third or fourth click clockwise, and when going counterclockwise, it'll not change values for one click, then skip a value on the next click, doing this every third or fourth click.

It does seem that these knobs are buggy in that regard. It's just a minor annoyance, but if it's something fixable in a future firmware update, it'd definitely help the navigating experience.

Having this problem too...has anyone found a fix for this? I'm on 1.33 firmware and still nothing.
