Analog Lab 49- Just got it
« on: June 16, 2011, 08:55:23 pm »
and I have to say I am impressed with the quality of both the sounds and controller for the price point.  Really good work, Arturia, but some initial issues-

--Is there no manual for the controller editor?  Most of it is quite easy to grasp for those familiar with midi controllers, but this seems to be aimed at people just starting out and some form of guide would be very helpful (had to look at Ableton's manual to be reminded of the relative knob controller variations)

--I have only scratched the surface of the presets, but I am surprised to see that the aftertouch is not put to use on the patches.

--When there are splits and layers in scene mode, I am surprised that the volume of the upper and lower parts are not assigned to a controller, same with the pads.  It would certainly be nice to be able to assign the mixer controls to the controller, or to set aside the general parameter knobs for personal assignment.

I am overall very pleased and feel that this is a tremendous value for anyone needing a solid controller and to get a feel for the depth and sound of your VA synths.  I really hope the sales are good and that development isn't stopped midstream (Kore, anyone...).

Regards,
M
