Step Sequencer: Click - Hold - Drag up or down on the sequencer steps to adjust velocity (or drag while holding a modifier key). Have the step illumination change to reflect the velocity setting. This would allow you to work faster on the whole arrangement without having to open up the controller lanes.

Controller lanes: Double-Click eraser to delete all data in the present view.

Good idea, in fact I wanted to do it for a long time but never find the time to do this.

Why not. Actually there is a right click function that allow you to erase:
- the current automation
- all automation
- all the track
