Spark1.1.1 hosted inside Maschine = weird modulated audio from Spark

On Windows (XPsp3 here) try this ....

Launch Maschine standalone.
Launch Spark 1.1.1 as a VST plugin for Pad1.
Hit play  .... Audio output sounds garbled - particularly the kick drum sounds like it has a ring modulator effect strapped over it.

I use MAschine as my primary writing tool nowadays and I want Spark to join in the action but currently this is a no-go zone.

I was wondering, are you running Maschine in 32 bit or in 64 bit?
