automating fx pad

when recording a session is it possible to record your fx pad motions .i.ve tried and it works with LPF/BPF/HPF  but not with repeat, tape, strobe, fx

I havent had much luck with that either, other than recording cutoff/ res automations, not the same though as overall LPF or HPF or any slicing.
