New to Spark VDM
« on: July 10, 2012, 06:32:36 pm »
Hi,

is there a document where all automatable parameters are listed?

I canīt figure out how to use MIDI learn with Automap and a Novation SL 61 MK II.
REC, STOP, PLAY, X/Y pad, jog dial, everything is on the keyboard, but I canīt use it with VDM?
These two could go together well in live situations.
I donīt want to use a mouse or trackpad during a song, especially not when I have a controller keyboard.

And btw how to use the ROLL function?
Nothing happens when I try to use it?

You can't use MIDI learn on most of your mentioned knobs button, but you could assign the parameter values of some of them (like Start/Stop, Rec) manually with Automap's editor. Just search the parameter list in the Automap window, all mappable knobs/buttons are listed.

Thank you although thatīs bad news.
Start/Stop/Rec are not in the list and some more functions canīt be triggered as well.
Volume, Pan, Send Level and "synth" functions are working, but no "beat manipulation".

So it seems without a mouse and looking on the screen you canīt use it live.
I really should have tested it before buying.
Maybe Spark hardware would have been the better solution for me.

Figured out how the rolling is functioning  ;D
I had select activated, it doesnīt work then.

One more question, can I drag or copy the patterns into the sequencer?

Ok, afaik the SL Mk II comes with a template editor. Could it be possible to set the transport controls there? I remember that I've used my Maschine Controller editor to succesfully map Start/Stop/Rec, because these functions seem to be a kind of "standard" NRPM's for many manufacturers.

Oh, and yes, you can drag/drop patterns from the "Studio" page directly into your DAW.
