Can't Save Chords in Analog Lab
« on: September 02, 2014, 01:25:50 pm »
Hello,

I am using Minilab with Analog Lab and I assign new chords to different pads however as soon as I change the preset the chords turn back to default values. Is there a way to save different chords for each preset or save same chords globally? I tried using MIDI Control Center to change the note settings of each pad (1-8) however still could not get what I want.

I have the same problem with Analog Lab pads in Protools (though am able to assign chords to the pads when Analog Lab is in standalone mode).

Any solutions out there to get chord assignment to work? I've read similar problems on this message board but not found a solution yet.

I had a similar problem. The solution for me is as follows:

If you make changes to the pad chord settings when in 'live' mode, and then exit the programme, the changes are saved.  However, if you make changes in 'sound' or 'multi' mode, and then hit a snapshot key, the changes are lost, and pads revert to the settings that were last saved (at programme exit) in 'live' mode.

Whoops.  Upgraded to version 1.2, and the problem is back.  Can't save chords at all now.

Hello
please in which version you remember this working? What format vst vst3... Are you using ?

We will look asap.

EDIT
We confirm the issue in standalone,
However it work fine in a DAW session like a Live project.

The bug will be fixed ASAP (but this is probably not before January, some other bugfixes more critical will come before).

Best

Update - latest build (Dec 16) seems to have restored the previous functionality.  If you save a chord in live mode ('sound' not 'multi') and then exit the programme, the changes are saved, and the programmed chords will survive a preset change (by mouse, control knob or snapshot button).  The only limitation appears to be multi mode - the only way I can find to make programmed chord changes persistent is to save the preset.  Even then, the change is only effective for that preset, and is not global.

I'd like to know the latest situation with saving chords in a preset, or a snapshot, in Analog Lab. Very frustrating. I had a really wonderful set and now they are all gone... not fun

Guess what...

This problem is back with the Jan 5 build - can't save pad chords in any mode.  Come on Arturia!

Update

This is what works now for me:

Enter 'live' mode, and choose 'sound' not 'multi'.
Programme the pads with chosen chords.
Exit the programme
restart Windows

The saved chords should now be available under 'sound' mode.

Note - I couldn't get this to work without the restart of Windows.

Further update

Previous workaround no longer working - lab starts with random assignment of chords.

Come on Arturia - the pads are next to useless if they have to be reprogrammed every time lab is run.

Arturia, come on!  It has been a year since you said you would fix this problem and still no solution!

Very disappointed.

I just started working with my MiniLab and Analog Lab and also wish I had a solution to save my assigned chords. Ideally, I would have a way to do this both Globally and individually for each preset sound. Please advise, or direct me to another forum/page that has already noted a solution.

Yeah this is very frustrating.  Before a live performance I have to scurry around setting the chords back up.
The Analog Lab software would be so perfect if this worked!!

Logged a support ticket about this back in August. Arturia responded that it was a 'bug' and would be fixed with the next release. Disappointingly, the latest update has not resolved the issue. :-[

Has anyone figured out how to get the chords to stay put?  this is beyond frustrating, and seems like a no brainer function, that Arturia just overlooked.
