ARTURIA announces availability of STORM for MAC OS X

Grenoble, FRANCE -- 8 January 2002 -- Arturia announced today that it will be presenting Storm for Mac OS X at NAMM 2002. Storm is among the most robust programs for music creation, delivering results that are close to those of a professional studio. Since its introduction at NAMM 2000, Storm’s popularity has grown considerably.

“Approximately 35 percent of our Storm customer base is now made up of Mac users,” said Frédéric Brun, Arturia’s CEO. “Consequently, it is crucial for Arturia to bring a Mac OS X version of Storm to the public. Mac OS X is a major step in the right direction for the music community and everyone at Arturia is very excited about this new evolution of Storm.”

“Mac OS X Core Audio integrates all audio functions directly into the operating system, enabling ultra low latency and superior overall performance,” said Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “Storm is a tremendous virtual studio application and we’re delighted to have Arturia’s support for Mac OS X.”

Storm is a virtual music studio aimed at serious amateurs and allows the user to select instruments and effects which are then incorporated into a studio right before the user's eyes. Once the studio has been created, the user can create musical pieces in a fast, easy and extremely efficient manner. Storm permits the import and export of all popular music file formats including MP3, AIFF and WAV, and it supports MIDI.

Arturia was launched in June 1999 by Frédéric Brun and director of technology, Gilles Pommereuil. They are serious musicians who are intent on making musical creation via computer to be as true as possible to traditional creation.

Storm is distributed in the US by Thinkware (http://www.thinkware.com)
