ARTURIA announces the release of the CS-80V, a reproduction of the legendary Yamaha CS-80

Grenoble, FRANCE – AES, New-York – October, 10th 2003

ARTURIA’s CS-80V is the reproduction of the legendary Yamaha CS-80 which is considered by many as “the ultimate polyphonic” synthesizer.

Introduced in 1976 and considered Japans first great synthesizer, the CS-80 became immediately famous in the Music Industry. It was popularised by a very large number of pop supergroups and artists who helped to turn it into a real myth.

On the Vintage Synth Explorer website, Matt Friedmann says: “ No synth sounds greater. The best examples for its extremely fat sound are ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Mask’, or ‘Bounty’ by Vangelis as well as ‘Dune’ by Toto. (…)”

The CS-80V offers the same features as the original CS-80 and adds some innovative functions such as a multi-mode, and a modulation matrix. It is fully compatible with the main protocols and systems in the industry. It can be used as stand-alone software or as a virtual instrument. And with the ability to work 32 bits/96kHz, it offers all the qualities of a hardware synthesizer.

The CS-80 V is loaded with more than 400 presets made by a selection of top artists and musicians.

The CS-80V is based on a set of algorithms created by Arturia’s sound engineers and gathered under the name TAE®. TAE® stands for True Analog Emulation. It brings a superior quality of sound when reproducing analogue circuits. In particular, TAE® avoids any sort of aliasing; it also emulates the typical instability of hardware oscillators and brings the warm sound of the vintage synths.
