    To update the MicroFreak firmware, please do as below:

  • Open the MIDI Control Center

  • If your MicroFreak is not up to date, you will be prompted with the following pop-up:

  • register my instrument

  • Click on Install

  • Click OK and wait for the update process to complete


Where to connect a mic?

Process external instruments and sounds through the Vocoder mode for unique formant textures - simply connect to the headphones input via 3.5mm TRRS.


Which mic to use?


You can use any 3.5mm TRRS. mic using the CTIA norm.

Mainly all the mics made for smartphones or tablets are now using this norm.


Note: a TRRS connector means that the connector has 4 contacts.

In practice, your connector needs to have 3 blacks rings and be wired as follow:

    For pluging headphones + a mic, you simply need to use a TRRS splitter, as below:

From Presets

  • Import the 2.1 preset bank:

    register my instrument

  • Setup the mic:
    • Click on Utility button
      • Select Mic Settings
        • Adjust Mic gain
        • Turn Mic Detection ON

  • Use a preset between 208 and 223.





From Scratch

  • Setup the mic:
    • Click on Utility button
      • Select Mic Settings
        • Adjust Mic gain
        • Turn Mic Detection ON

  • Select the Vocoder mode thanks to the Type knob.
