The classic filter from our Mini V virtual instrument is now in a dedicated plugin: MiniFilter V.

Add the familiar filter tone to warm or smooth out your audio, or to add sweetness to a sensitive recording.

In addition to the low-pass filter module, MiniFilter V also includes a powerful modulation section which consists of an envelope follower, an LFO, and a step sequencer. A patch manager is also built-in, along with a set of presets to inspire your creativity.

If there should be only one…

The MiniFilter V software effect is the latest embodiment of work that started in 2003 when Arturia partnered with Bob Moog to recreate the illustrious synthesizers he designed as software instruments.

The 24dB/oct Ladder filter has always been at the core of the Model D monosynth myth. So we applied the greatest care and used the latest technological advances to reproduce its warm and highly musical tone.

One legendary filter, one FX plug-in

Whether you are a singer, a guitarist, a DJ, a producer.... the MiniFilter V will spice up your music. Emphasize the warmth of your voice, make your lead guitar sound more trenchant, amplify the weight of your drum track.

Not just a filter

But wait, there’s more.

To add to the legendary filter, we’ve developed new features to make it even more musical and to open up sonic discoveries. The sample & hold and sequencer makes the MiniFilter V a true sound designer’s tool for mixing, sound creation, and experimentation.

Low Frequency Oscillator

Beyond animating the Cutoff Frequency and Emphasis by the application of a periodic variation that can take different waveforms and synchronized or not with your DAW’s clock, the MiniFilter V LFO also offers a Sample and Hold mode. This one takes a random value and freezes it for a given time according to the Rate setting to generate a rhythmic effect.

Low Pass Filter

It gives you access to the most central parameters of the filter such as the Cutoff Frequency above which the high frequencies will be progressively cut, the Emphasis aka resonance that boost the frequencies around the cutoff frequency. In addition, the Drive parameter will raise the gain of the filter up to add distortion to the signal.

Envelope Follower

It allows the Cutoff Frequency, the Emphasis and the LFO Rate to be modified based on the envelope of the sound source. The sensitivity controls the vertical follow-up while the attack and decay can be used to smooth the follow-up on the time axis. The MiniFilter V Envelope Follower can thus be used for affecting the sound at an audio rate or inversely more subtly to follow broader volume variations.

Step Sequencer

This highly creative modulator lets you accurately set a value up to 8 steps that can control the Cutoff Frequency, the Emphasis and the Rate of the LFO. You will be able to use it in sync with your DAW and to soften the transition from a step to another to radically extend your creative horizon.

Holy smokes.... this thing is on fire. Who ever knows all the amazing secret weapons the Moog Filers hold, well imagine the legendary "Ladder" filter combined with Multimode Filter, then you know what am talking about... And did I forget to mention that this massive filter is just under €50?

Envelope follower on cutoff

In this example, the cutoff of the filter is controlled by the amplitude of the incoming audio signal, using the built in Envelope follower. The first four measures let your hear the unprocessed drumloop, after which Minifilter-V is enabled.

LFO on cutoff

Here a simple LFO is applied to the cutoff frequency of the filter, producing a classic wah effect. The first four measures let your hear the unprocessed riff, after which MiniFilter V is applied to the guitar track, as the last part of the audio chain.

Step sequencer on cutoff

The built-in step sequencer can be used to quickly add movement and rhythm to a static sound. The first two measures let your hear the unprocessed synth loop, after which MiniFilter V is applied to the Mini V3 channel. Notice how it goes from flat to groovy and lively !

It could be sweet… or quite the opposite

MiniFilter V add warmth and lushness to audio tracks, and it open for experimentation.

The MiniFilter V takes you far further than simply going from a static state to another. It will turn your song from gold to platinum. Run a vocal through MiniFilter V with the envelope follower and step sequencer activated about you’ll create something freaky, beautiful, and new. Or perhaps a drum beat with the Low Pass Filter and LFO in full swing.

All this is possible through one easy-to-use software plug-in that works in all DAW's.
