3 modes
total control

KeyStep mk2’s modes work in synergy to keep ideas evolving - capture a riff, turn it into a sequence, mutate it, and keep the momentum alive.

Sequencer mode

Create and play back polyphonic patterns. Chain, overdub, undo, mutate, automate bends/mod, and transform sequences live - great for hardware rigs and sketching ideas in your DAW.

Arpeggiator mode

Choose from 16 arp types including Poly, Walk, Pattern, and Random. Phrase Arp remaps your sequence to played notes for immediate, musical mutations.

Controller mode

With MIDI, USB, and CV, KeyStep mk2 handles it all. Use it as a central controller to sequence gear, input chords, or modulate CV synths from one compact keyboard.

"What I love about Keystep 2 is that it helps me create melodies that won’t come to my mind in a regular way. I love how you can start with a simple arpeggio and you quickly morph it into an evolving loop with interesting harmonic and rhythmic structure, then you store it as a pattern just with a click of a button, all that with minimum or no menu diving. Major upgrade from the original keystep in terms of playability, although the first version was already very good."

"I got down with the original Keystep. The lighter design, screen, and usb-c on the Keystep MK2 are huge upgrades to a great compact controller."

Maarten Vos

Composer / Producer

"The original Keystep has long been a staple in my setup for many instruments. The new MK2 is even more versatile, with great new features. As a modular synth enthusiast using CV, I love the upgraded sequencer and the ability to change length and quantization on the fly."

Low Jack

"Arturia’s KeyStep MK2 is quite a fun and wonderful tool, I must say. Especially the overdub mode for improvisation. And when you add the mutate mode, you can create really unexpected sequences. I mainly use it together with the Augmented Voices and Piano plugins. It’s incredibly inspiring when starting from a blank page. Excellent."
