ARTURIA announces Synclavier V2

Originally released in 2016 as part of V Collection 5, Synclavier V gave a whole new generation of musicians access to the ground breaking sound and features of the revolutionary late-70s digital synth. Developed in partnership with the original instrument’s inventor, Cameron Jones, Synclavier V went above and beyond the capabilities of the hardware produced between the late 70s and early 90s.

However, New England Digital also produced many optional add-ons for the Synclavier, such as a sample playback module and a resynthesis engine, that were not emulated in Arturia’s release of Synclavier V 2.

Today, that changes.

With the release of Synclavier V 2, alongside many other workflow enhancements and improvements, Arturia and Cameron Jones are proud to announce that Synclavier now includes sampling capabilities and an exciting resynthesis engine for musicians, producers, and sound designers to explore.

Synclavier V 2 is available as a free upgrade to all owners of Synclavier V, or Arturia’s V Collection 5 and V Collection 6.

A vintage sampler

Load in samples by simply dragging and dropping, and play them back with vintage digital grain and pitch scaling. Samples of up to 30 seconds can be imported and processed using Synclavier V’s effects and routing, perfect for creating retro sampled keys and
pitched-down pads.

Resynthesis reinvented

Once a sample is loaded, with the touch of a button Synclavier V can now analyze the spectral content of the sample and - using a mixture of wavetable and FM synthesis - mimic the sound using resynthesis. Key points in the sample can be identified and manipulated manually to refine the synth patch, and then every parameter can be controlled using Synclavier V’s hugely powerful synth engine. Create entire instruments from just one sample!

New old sounds

Arturia’s sound design team have been busy creating hundreds of new presets for you to enjoy in Synclavier V, showing off some of the key new features to get you inspired. On top of that, the updated version includes a selection of the original New England Digital sample library files for that authentic touch.

Refining a legend

Following feature requests and feedback from Synclavier V owners, Arturia’s software developers have also integrated many subtle improvements to the interface and operation of the instrument. These include:

• New resynthesis engine with up to 100 analysis points

• Sample playback mode

• Timeline improvements, including doubling frames from 50 to 100; added global frame speed offset; a new frame tuning parameter; new loop mode; frames can now be synced to host BPM grid; the ability to move only one frame on the timeline by Shift + Drag; and refined Solo/Copy/Paste/Delete timeline workflow.

• Modulation tab improvements, including the addition of Vibrato and Stereo LFO; and Amp and Harmonic envelopes added as modulation sources.

• Keyboard dynamics improvements

• Ability to choose Keyboard, Velocity or Mod Wheel as input sources

• New copy/paste modes: only one selected tab or all tabs

• Cosmetics improvements, including LFOs in screen view, envelopes global offsets, tabs order, merge FX and setting pages, timeline real time feedback, ruler auto-zoom, envelopes and timeline bound scroll.

• New opening mode for hardware upper panel

• Harmonic phase histograms are now displayed in degrees (-179°/+180°)

• Additional template presets with a HQ Simple Sine

• Presets revamped with volume leveling and assignation of mod wheel and sustain pedal

• All former settings page parameters are now stored in presets

The newest member of the “Brute” analog hardware family, DrumBrute Impact really lives up to the name. This can be activated channel by channel, or programmed using the sequencer, and generates unique tonal changes in the drum sounds. True to its nature, DrumBrute Impact also features a drum-optimized distortion on the output bus, with a simple “gain” knob and an on-off switch.

ARTURIA MINIBRUTE 2 ECOSYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE

From their headquarters in the French Alps, hardware and software instrument creators Arturia have announced the worldwide arrival and immediate availability of MiniBrute 2, MiniBrute 2S, and RackBrute.

The exciting new range of hybrid analog modular synthesizers feature hugely powerful synth capabilities, addictive interfaces, performance controls, Eurorack compatibility, and allow users to create an immersive, creative ecosystem that’s entirely unique to them.

Retailers and distributors around the world are now receiving the next generation of Arturia’s MiniBrute. Announced ahead of NAMM 2018, the new range was one of the highlights of the show, and has been well received by reviewers. Following glowing reviews from the likes of Sound On Sound, Sonic State, and Future Music, customers will now be able to get hands on with the instruments, try them out, and make them part of their musical setup.

To coincide with the MiniBrute 2, MiniBrute 2S, and RackBrute systems hitting stores around the world, Arturia have also launched a video tutorial series that will allow new users to quickly get up to speed with the instruments. The first episode, online now, covers the synthesis possibilities, and explains the common parameters shared by both MiniBrute 2 and MiniBrute 2S. Every feature is expertly covered by Sebastien Rochard, who was also a key player in the design and development of the MiniBrute 2 series.

MiniBrute 2 is a formidable analog synthesizer featuring a CV patchbay that lets you reshape and redesign its architecture, a luxurious 25-note keyboard, sequencer, arpeggiator, and Steiner-Parker filter for full creative control.

Geared toward the modern electronic musician, MiniBrute 2S features the same powerful analog synth engine as the MiniBrute 2, but replaces the keyboard with an advanced, triple-layered sequencer with performance pad interface.

The RackBrute 3U and 6U systems are affordable, adaptable Eurorack modular housing systems that can either be used in a standalone mode, or connected via the Arturia Link system to either the MiniBrute 2 or MiniBrute 2S to create an inspiring modular synth ecosystem.

ARTURIA MATRIXBRUTE PRICE TO RISE ON JULY 1ST, 2018

Grenoble-based hardware and software synth creators Arturia have announced that the retail price of their flagship analog monosynth will rise from July 1st, 2018.

Due to increasing cost of the internal analog components, manufacturing, and shipping, Arturia have made the decision to raise the price of the MatrixBrute, which was announced at NAMM 2016, and has gone on to win multiple media, consumer, and pro audio awards since its release.

" Arturia has always been keen on delivering instruments that offer high value for money. This is what we did with MatrixBrute, I believe, making a real statement that we could bring an outstanding synthesizer at reasonable price. " remarked Frédéric Brun, Arturia's founder and president.

" The decision to raise this price hasn't come easily, and we waited to make the change for as long as we could. Due to increasing component costs, and to aid our distributors and retailers in a context where several Euro/US$/£ have fluctuated since the introduction, we considered that now was the right time. "

From the start of July, the price of the Arturia MatrixBrute will see the following increases:

In the Eurozone, the retail price will change from 1999 ^€ to 2299 ^€.
In the USA, the price will change from 2199 ^US$ to 2499 ^US$.

Even with this price rise taken into consideration, it’s still one of the most exciting, experimental, and inspiring premium synthesizers on the market.

Arturia’s global network of distributors and their retailers have been notified, and are ready to reflect the change in cost from this date.
