En esta página, puedes leer de su puño y letra lo que nuestros diseñadores de sonido opinan de Pigments, su manejo, cómo diseñaron su sonido y también un poco sobre su patch favorito.
Mr Bill
"Pigments shines by turning randomness into melody, modulation, and evolving textures, letting its Functions, Sequencer, and granular engine generate ideas you shape rather than program."
Lovely Fifths
My favorite preset is called "Lovely Fifths". It's dead simple, but very usable. I've found usability out of this preset in multiple cases now, which is why I'd say it's one of my favorites.
Mr Bill
I’m Bill, known as Mr. Bill in the electronic music world. Over 15 years I’ve built a career producing albums, EPs, collaborations, sound design tools, and education via tutorials and a podcast.
Dash Glitch
"Pigments excels with a deep library of polished, usable sounds. The addition of the Modal oscillator and Vocoder pushed it into fresh creative territory with even greater sound-design potential."
Intelligent Life
If I had to pick one, my favorite preset is 'Intelligent Life'. It’s simple yet highly effective, delivering rhythmic grooves packed with variation. I’ve already found it invaluable in several work-in-progress tracks, where it adds an irresistible layer of depth and movement.
Dash Glitch
Dash is a South African musician and sound designer with over a decade of experience in electronic music. Now focused on sound design and education, he inspires the next generation of producers through his engaging YouTube content.
Gustavo Bravetti
"Pigments would be my single must-have synth, offering a huge, versatile sound palette across countless engines and effects, with an intuitive, visually clear modulation system that makes complex ideas effortless."
Bells Of Varanasi
‘Bells Of Varanasi’ emerged from experimenting with the Modal engine, using its detune function in a unique way. Disabling Modal Stereo shifts odd and even harmonics apart, creating a one-of-a-kind timbre. The result is an incredibly expressive and realistic bell sound that transports you to a far-east land.
Gustavo Bravetti
Always in love with music and technology, musician, producer and live performer, Gustavo started programming synths and computers in the late 80’s. Nowadays he fulfills his childhood dreams.
Zardonic
"Pigments is praised as an ideal teaching tool for synthesis thanks to its clear visual feedback. Despite being extremely powerful, it stays accessible for beginners, making it a versatile, go-to synthesizer for almost any purpose."
Chainsaw
“The Chainsaw” is my favorite preset. Knowing the FX section included a powerful parametric EQ and a distortion effect, I researched how to match the right EQ curve with a distortion circuit. While it’s not an exact replica, it gets impressively close to certain guitar-pedal tones.
Zardonic
Federico Ágreda Álvarez - professionally known as Zardonic - is a DJ with hundreds of tracks released as a solo artist as well as with countless bands as a producer, composer, sound designer, remixer, mixing and mastering engineer.
Ollie Psy
"It’s always fun to step outside my usual “psychedelic sound design” bubble and explore Pigments from a different angle. Who knew you could get away with the modal engine and an overdriven filter for most bread-and-butter sounds?"
This Olive Is Acid
“This Olive Is Acid” is the preset that made me realize how gorgeous the distortion on the new Rage filters is. It started as an attempt to create a plucky, string-like instrument, something close to a guitar, but it quickly turned into a screaming acid lead the moment I applied some distortion from one of the Rage filters.
Ollie Psy
I'm Ollie, a sound designer, Psytrance producer and content creator. I craft sounds with psychedelic and cinematic textures and have worked on Fred’s Lab Manatee and Arturia Pigments while creating sound libraries, lessons and music.
Adrobski
"The sheer variety of creative possibilities in Pigments is truly impressive! The combination of classic Wavetable and Analog engines with the Sample/Granular and Harmonic engines allows for the creation of an astonishing diversity of sounds. I particularly appreciate several of the effects, notably the distortion, modulation, and delay."
3K
3K is a deep, powerful bass! I created it from a simple wavetable, then added harmonies with distortion and a piano sample. Adding a piano sample creates a stronger attack. I wanted this bass to be playable both as a bass and as a lead, so I added a modulation effect to create a wider sound that takes up more space.
Adrobski
Adrobski is a French musician and sound designer, who composes for brands like LVMH, Lacoste, or visual 3D artists like Blansable, Matteyyy, Matthieu Braccini and accompanies other musical artists in their projects.
Father Funk
"I really love the modulators in the Wavetable engine. They remind me of the Modulation OSC in Massive. I also really dig all the stock samples in the Sample engine. It’s rad to not only have access to a bunch of instrument samples but also stuff like foley right inside the synth."
Square Squank Bass
"Square Squank Bass" is a super fun and versatile preset. It's essentially a square wave with a resonant high pass filter on it but by messing around with the macros you can get some really interesting variations. I actually used this patch in my remix of "Brass Pineapple" by Sunsquabi I put out recently.
Father Funk
My name is Will, aka Father Funk. I’m a DJ and Music Producer based in Vancouver, BC. My sound combines elements of Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Disco, with high energy Bass Music such as Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Bass House.
Francis Preve
"I’ve been a fan of Pigments since it first came out and the ability to combine multiple Engines as the basis for a sound is such a rewarding approach for creative designs. Having been involved with Physical Modeling for many years, the new Modal Engine is wonderful, whether you’re just experimenting or chasing a specific texture."
Klockwerk
I really like Klockwerk, which layers two Modal sounds with a Comb LP6 model. Each layer is triggered by its own tempo-synced Function modulator. I set everything up with a Rate Macro that transforms the timing of all three rhythms at once. The Mod Wheel also morphs everything into a soft ambient pad.
Francis Preve
Francis is a sound designer, producer, and college professor based in the USA. He has consulted on the development of numerous synthesizers, as well as production for both TV and film projects.
Lily Jordy
"Pigments has always been an endless horizon of possibilities in terms of sound design, and I love the realistic, almost acoustic tones that we can get from the modal engine. This is probably my favorite update besides the granular engine addition a few years ago."
Tension Bass
Tension Bass is a preset based on the new modal engine, and I love how much it can mutate between a subdued sub or a heavy distorted drone: you can truly meld it like metal!
Lily Jordy
I'm a multi-instrumentalist turned sound designer and engineer, creating and performing organic electronic music as “Lyli J” for the past 12 years. Mesmerized by the art of synthesis and audio sculpting, I've been part of the sound design team and creative process at Arturia since 2017.
