Lovely Fifths

My favorite preset is called "Lovely Fifths". It's dead simple, but very usable. I've found usability out of this preset in multiple cases now, which is why I'd say it's one of my favorites.

Intelligent Life

If I had to pick one, my favorite preset is 'Intelligent Life'. It’s simple yet highly effective, delivering rhythmic grooves packed with variation. I’ve already found it invaluable in several work-in-progress tracks, where it adds an irresistible layer of depth and movement.

Bells Of Varanasi

‘Bells Of Varanasi’ emerged from experimenting with the Modal engine, using its detune function in a unique way. Disabling Modal Stereo shifts odd and even harmonics apart, creating a one-of-a-kind timbre. The result is an incredibly expressive and realistic bell sound that transports you to a far-east land.

Chainsaw

“The Chainsaw” is my favorite preset. Knowing the FX section included a powerful parametric EQ and a distortion effect, I researched how to match the right EQ curve with a distortion circuit. While it’s not an exact replica, it gets impressively close to certain guitar-pedal tones.

Ollie Psy

I'm Ollie, a sound designer, Psytrance producer and content creator. I craft sounds with psychedelic and cinematic textures and have worked on Fred’s Lab Manatee and Arturia Pigments while creating sound libraries, lessons and music.

This Olive Is Acid

“This Olive Is Acid” is the preset that made me realize how gorgeous the distortion on the new Rage filters is. It started as an attempt to create a plucky, string-like instrument, something close to a guitar, but it quickly turned into a screaming acid lead the moment I applied some distortion from one of the Rage filters.

Adrobski is a French musician and sound designer, who composes for brands like LVMH, Lacoste, or visual 3D artists like Blansable, Matteyyy, Matthieu Braccini and accompanies other musical artists in their projects.

3K

3K is a deep, powerful bass! I created it from a simple wavetable, then added harmonies with distortion and a piano sample. Adding a piano sample creates a stronger attack. I wanted this bass to be playable both as a bass and as a lead, so I added a modulation effect to create a wider sound that takes up more space.

Square Squank Bass

"Square Squank Bass" is a super fun and versatile preset. It's essentially a square wave with a resonant high pass filter on it but by messing around with the macros you can get some really interesting variations. I actually used this patch in my remix of "Brass Pineapple" by Sunsquabi I put out recently.

Francis Preve

Francis is a sound designer, producer, and college professor based in the USA. He has consulted on the development of numerous synthesizers, as well as production for both TV and film projects.

Klockwerk

I really like Klockwerk, which layers two Modal sounds with a Comb LP6 model. Each layer is triggered by its own tempo-synced Function modulator. I set everything up with a Rate Macro that transforms the timing of all three rhythms at once. The Mod Wheel also morphs everything into a soft ambient pad.

Lily Jordy

I'm a multi-instrumentalist turned sound designer and engineer, creating and performing organic electronic music as “Lyli J” for the past 12 years. Mesmerized by the art of synthesis and audio sculpting, I've been part of the sound design team and creative process at Arturia since 2017.

Tension Bass

Tension Bass is a preset based on the new modal engine, and I love how much it can mutate between a subdued sub or a heavy distorted drone: you can truly meld it like metal!
